The simple whitewashed Hotel Alpha occupies the modern extension of a restored 19th century villa set in luscious Mediterranean gardens, just a 300 metre stroll from La Marinella beach on the outskirts of historic Sorrento. The air conditioned guestrooms are predominantly blue and white and feature 19th century style furniture. All have balconies, satellite television, direct dial telephones and minibars. The private bathrooms have hairdryers and some also include hydro massage tubs.
Guests can take a leisurely dip in the in outdoor pool, sunbathe on the terrace while taking in panoramic views of the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvius and relax in the shade of fruit trees in the gardens. Facilities for business include meeting and conference rooms and banquet facilities. Right next to the beach, the hotel is also within two kilometres of central Sorrento. The legendary island of Capri is seven kilometres away and accessible by boat or hydrofoil from the port. Mount Vesuvius and the ruins of Pompeii are both within 35 kilometres of the hotel. The nearest airport is Naples, which is 50 kilometres and about an hour drive from the vicinity of the hotel. Buses run from the airport to Naples train station and the port (Piazza Municipio and also to Sorrento. Taxis are also available from the airport.
